Our hearts were broken! That was not going to happen. Second trainer did clicker and treat training. She wanted to put him on doggie Prozac. Then we stumbled upon the Pawfection website. It was as if the website was taking just to us. Darryl came over today, and like they said, it was as if he was able to turn off the switch that caused the aggression. Then, our big dream is to take Reese to the dog park, when he can be the dog, that we always knew he could be.
I would definitely recommend Pawfection to anyone who wants a professional dog trainer. If no, what was the other source? What did you like least about this contractor? What surprises came up during the course of the work? What words of advice would you give this contractor? Nothing — he was a fabulous person.
This is your space. Feel free to give us your two cents … or quote your favorite movie? Today was life changing for our dog Reese, and for ourselves. I have been a member of Pawfection group training for the past 18 weeks. The group training classes held at Winter Springs dog park are invaluable to building a trusting relationship with your dog. We learn obedience, leash skills, agility and fun.
And the dogs learn that too!!! I highly recommend to anyone who is seeking a place to work your dog, become confident and have fun on Saturday mornings! When we first found Pawfection, we were skeptical at first, due to our encounters, money spent, et al. Darryl arrived at our home for consultation with our entire family.
Pawfection has provided an atmosphere of discipline, socialization, agility courses and framework for success and for our dog. My Cairn Terrier was generally well behaved at home but had the problem of becoming very feisty and anxious when someone would ring the bell at home or if we stayed out for the weekend. As soon as we would put her harness on, she would get anxious and feisty like trying to protect us. It was an embarrassment because she was loud and would pull aggressively on the leach like trying to run while on the leach.
So we decided to call Pawfection Dog training. Daryl came and immediately started to test the dog in several ways and took her out on a leach, showed us some tricks to calm the dog inside and outside the house. To make a long story short, my dog became a different dog with a better attitude, no more barking and growling inside the house then we went out for a weekend and I could not believe how well she behaved with her harness and leach.
No embarrassment, loud barking, or growling. It became the best weekend ever and very peaceful. The training also helped on a way my miniature Schnauzer. We recommend Pawfection Dog training if you need your dog to behave as you wish.
Thanks Darryl and good luck. James Stenhouse Maitland, FL Service scheduled was a two hour in home training session with Darryl. Service requested for our two black Labrador Retrievers. Our price was higher than advertised only because we elected to purchase items from Darryl. For people who spend a lot of time with our dogs it is a great investment! After reading all the reviews here on the company I was excited but skeptical.
We had attended obedience classes before with mixed results and the idea that our issues could be addressed in a single two hour session seemed too good to be true. Well I was happily proved wrong! Darryl arrived promptly as scheduled and took time to listen to what we wanted done. After some education about dogs he showed us how to do scent training which was my favorite part! He quickly addressed the issue of the dogs charging the front door with simple but very effective techniques.
We leashed the dogs up and took them out for some walk training. I wanted to wait a few days before I wrote this review to make sure that our dogs were still responding. With as many dogs gathered at one time for group training, one might expect there would be chaos and confusion, but that is never the case. Everything is well orchestrated and monitored so multiple classes are going on all at the same time, Every dog receives a lot of attention and help with the training they are receiving.
Although I was taking the group obedience classes, I continued having some behavioral challenges with my puppy at home. One session is all it took to straighten this little guy out and put him on the path to success!. Darryl taught me very simple, gentle techniques to modify his behavior and how to teach him appropriate behaviors, all while loving on him and playing with him at the same time.
When Darryl left that one session in our home, we saw a completely different dog. There is no better anywhere! Pawfection is the best dog training in Orlando. Great fun for both me and doggie!
The British humor is a total added bonus — love these guys! Pawfection Dog Training offers a unique, fun training experience for both dogs and their owners at very reasonable prices. After yielding unsuccessful results from local pet store training and videos, we researched other dog trainers and came across Pawfection.
Upon review, we were amazed by their credentials and positive feedback from their clients. Immediately upon contacting Pawfection, we were provided with helpful information and excellent customer service from Pennie Payne. She was very understanding and thoroughly answered all of our questions. We decided to book an in-home training session for further advice. After only one in-home session with Darryl Payne, our puppy problems were resolved. It was incredible how quickly results were achieved and how much we learned in just one session.
We now attend group training due to the great success of our in-home training and have continued to see amazing results with our two puppies. The trainers are very knowledgeable, courteous, and understanding and not to mention very funny.
We highly recommend Pawfection Dog Training to anyone and everyone! The main reasons I called Daryl was because my dog chased squirrels, pulled on the leash and was marking his territory in my bedroom. Daryl explained why he was acting out and told me and showed me what to do.
I called him after a couple of weeks and told him I was having issues with his aggression towards other dogs. He told me to bring him to the Winter Springs dog park and he would work with him- which he did. I started taking my dog to the beginner classes and after the third week my dog really started enjoying the class and is not aggressive toward any of the other dogs and they are all bigger than him.
Friends and neighbors have noticed a positive difference in my dog. Daryl takes the time to analyze each dog and get to know them and how best to train them. I have complete confidence that if I have any further issues Daryl will help me over the phone or in person with no additional cost to me.
They are there for 5 hours every Saturday to set up and provide classes for us- I can hardly handle 1 hour in the heat. Excellent service and advice. We will be returning to lessons again in the fall when it gets a little cooler. Owners are extremely responsive and friendly. Upon adopting our rescue black lab puppy, we wanted to get her started on the right paw. Our extensive search for the right trainer led us to Pawfection.
From the initial meeting in our house, it was love at first sight for our Remi. Darryl provided very valuable training not only for Remi, but also for my husband and me.
The in-home training gave us the necessary foundation to begin group training with Pawfection. Almost two years later, we continue to enjoy the weekly group training, and are delighted to watch Remi progress each week as she begins to grow out of her puppyhood, and work toward becoming a therapy dog.
All that to say that all of us are extremely happy with the results. Darryl came to my house to provide some dog training. The time was educational and worthwhile. I could see immediate results in what he was teaching. A major lesson is that the human, as well as the dog, must be trained to co-exist. I chose to continue practicing these ideals at his group sessions on Saturdays. Class times were adjusted in the summer to cope with the warmer temperatures.
Classes were impacted during rainy periods since the park had some drainage problems. At all times I felt in-sync with what Pawfection was doing, when we were meeting, and the public-facing events that Pawfection was involved with in the community.
What I appreciated was the handling of what appeared to me the growth of people joining the classes. I have recommended Pawfection to friends with dogs and will continue to recommend Pawfection.
Heather Bagwell Orlando FL. This was the best decision and experience we made for our dogs and our family. Within 24 hours we and our dogs were living in peace. It has been four months since our in home training and I would recommend Pawfection Dog Training to everyone.
They took financial aid, a loan, and am now telling me I owe them 3, Dollars. I have only taken 3 classes!! When I first started, the financial department told me that financial aid had covered my tuition percent and that I was actually overfunded.
Then all of a sudden they had dropped me from my classes and started blowing up my phone. All three classes focused on ethics, really this school has the nerve to teach ethics!
There has to be someone to report their misconduct to. I was an older non-traditional career changer coming from twenty-five years in investment management and investment banking. My program was for licensure in secondary social studies. I found the program to be very informative and professional.
The group work was irritating but it reminded me of corporate culture and necessary. I had previously enrolled in a local traditional college and found that program to be a disaster with frequent changes and administrative confusion. The Phoenix program was much better managed and more practical.
All of my instructors were either practicing teachers, active school administrators, or retired administrators. I received extensive practical advice along with competent academic instruction. At the conclusion of the degree I observed enforcement of academic standards during the required student teaching. Two student teachers in my cohort were flunked by their supervisors and failed to finish the degree as a result.
This was a good thing My program was traditional classroom and I took no online courses. My only hesitation concerning Phoenix is for those people wishing to teach at the college or university level. Higher ed programs in traditional colleges are unlikely to hire Phoenix, or any for-profit college, graduates. I was able to have a second career as a high school English and Social Studies teacher for eleven years as a result of my Phoenix degree.
It was a very happy and rewarding experience. The cost of school is consistent all around. You will be paying the same amount where ever you go.
The online experience was the only way I was able to go back to school and now I have my BA in criminal justice. I am having no problem applying for job and obtaining interviews, and sadly I have had to decline jobs because of my schedule. I have three young children and I started school in after my first child was born. I have obtained a high GPA of 3.
The biggest issue I have had would have to be with the other students. I have a high standard for my work and when you are paired with others who do not put the effort into class the way you do. The instructors were great and informative, and it is important to build relationships so you are able to ask for favors, like a recommendation letter or reference. I am on my way to applying for law school and going to UOP has qualified me enough to apply. The program was challenging, intellectually stimulating, and has depth.
I am very satisfied and achieved what I wanted to do, Online learning requires discipline, will and hard work. UOP has high expectations - you have to work really hard and hat is what I did.
It is a great school with dedicated faculty! I had an unfinished bachelor and I had always wanted to finish it, but was not sure how. Someone at my job spoke to me about the school. I researched the school, talked with a counselor, and in a few, was a new student. It has been hard to juggle two jobs, my children activities and online school. However you never know what you are made of unless you try harder.
With a year more to go I feel more confident, more knowledgable and more marketable. I cannot understand the negative reviews the school is getting because I have always been treated good by the faculty, advisors, and learnng teams. Overall, I think it is a great school. There is a lot of reading, assignments, projects to work on, and essays but nothing worth fighting for is easy.
Todays workforce is highly competitive. If you want to make it out there, you need to stay at the same level of competitiveness. But for this school the learning environment on the negative side far surpass the positives. My biggest issue is the inconsistency with classroom experience, you have classes that have fantastic teachers that provide you tutorials that actually teach you how to do the school work and you learn.
But not all of them are like this some are really lazy and just provide you the book and tell you get to work. A previous person said negative stuff about group projects, To be honest if you want to get anywhere in your career as a professional group environments are really important.
That is actually valuable experience so that is a positive aspect of this school group learning. It does have Discussion points which can be beneficial but also a waste of time, sometimes you find good post but you mainly find people rambling just for points not actually learning anything.
I do not have a lot of experience at other colleges for going above my associates degree, but the community college I went to was a more pleasant experience in regards to the quality of learning. However the community environment it is challenging to get the classes you need where UNOP has your class schedule pre determined so that is a plus, because you do not have to worry about getting into classes.
Other people complained about the school not being accommodating for real life events that effect you from completing your school. Lets be honest this is not High School It is time go past the thought that the world outside of High school will accommodate you.
School is meant to be hard and when you attend you accept the fact that you are going to give the class your full attention if you cannot do that then you deserve the grade given. Think of more like a contract and you will do fine. Of course the admission specialists are working to get you enrolled and get that money, but what you have to remember is that you are going to pay for your degree regardless of where you decide to pursue your degree.
I did enough research to understand how demanding this program would be and how much it is costing me. I love that I can track my progress to my degree any time. I am not expecting to fast-track my degree, but what I am doing is completing it as fast as I would if I was attending a campus-based university full time. I was able to apply previous school and military experience as credits towards my degree and I will be completing my CLEP exams this year to possible eliminate up to 8 months of courses.
She called a lot during the beginning of my program to answer questions and check in. She now calls me at least once during each course. There have been times that I would have trouble making attendance or participation and she would give me tips that made a difference. Sometimes, just printing out my text book helped me through tougher courses. She has been through the programs, so she knows how to successfully navigate through them.

The student however needs to be a bit more focused and disciplined University of Phoenix offers a wide range of curriculums to pursue. But may mot be for everyone. She said 70 percent of students at community colleges also start out in non-credit remedial classes, which puts them behind in their pursuit of a degree. The Chinese produces tons more than American, but I doubt anyone would say their goods are better then our.
You should not be mad at us for looking down on your degrees, and calling us snobs. Truth is you should have done your homework, and not buy into a easy degree route. An education is more than a piece of paper at the end. The Hawaii Directors team is very sorry to have to do this, but we really had no choice. The Academic Affairs team at the campus is quite sad about this, and we consulted with the directors team to see if we could hold an alternate type of event to enjoy the company of our faculty and their guests.
We would host this on Friday, December 10th beginning at 5: If this is of interest to you, could you please respond to this email and let me know. We would love to see you and spend some relaxed time with you. Sincerely Gene - 14 replies Flag as inappropriate. Inundated with soliciting phone calls from every school under the sun. I decide to talk to University of Phoenix and I get "Wade"!? I called to get information, instead I got interrogated.
He became irritably impatient with me and started raising his voice and asking slower and louder his questions, talking over me, etc. He even told me it was because I was forming my sentences wrong A school that hires people to read scripts instead of knowing the ins and outs is ridiculous and frustrating. I am trying to better myself, instead I get talked down to. The instructors are under qualify and all I got was a typing lesson.
I got phone calls every few weeks to make sure everything was going ok. I attempted for two weeks to get a hold of someone to ask for the best course of direction. After not hearing back I withdrew from the course because I knew I would have failed the class otherwise. Still no phone calls. Then I got a collection notice asking me to pay for the full course. I disputed it with them, and even read off their own policies for payment and length in courses and the amount that should be due.
The instructor was the only one who tried to help me through the whole process. It is funny, because the complaints you have about University of Phoenix, which my son proudly attends and will graduate from very soon, are so similar to the complaints I had against my school. If I had it to do over again, I would not attend a non-profit school that was more focused on the athletic program than anything else in my opinion.
The important thing is that employers care about what you can do for them, not the college you graduated from. If you apply yourself in college, no matter what college you attend, and if you learn something about the field you are interested in, most likely you will be able to apply for a job in that field and possibly get a job. It will have more to do with you as a person than the college you attended.
College helps you, no doubt about that. But it does not matter what college you attend, in my opinion. Good luck to all of you. July 19, , 8: For all of you that think I work for the school negative I am a used to be thugged out black male from the streets that has just graduated from the UOP.
I have graduated from UOP with a 3. I am proud of that and I will not let any of you spoil that experience. I and a Branch Administrator over two city branches of a major company. I have came from working a dead end job to making something for my self! I know people that have failed in these course and dropped out. I have changed my life for the better and the UOP is apart of that success stop crying and apply your self and you will be okay!!!!!!!!!
July 20, , 7: You admit yourself that you were not a very good student in high school but somehow graduated with 3. July 17, , 2: I did less than nothing in a traditional college and passed with flying colors.
I wrote more papers and participated more with Phoenix because I had to keep up with the workload. I think U of P has fixed plenty of the old issues. All of which they allowed to happen. However, when one began to become the leader, some people just hate it. Now look, every traditonal college want to do the same thing they once talked about as if it is so bad to be a online school.
Oh yeah, just to let you know, you can go to class and sit in. Last I checked traditonal schools give out student loans that students have to pay back, so whats the problem? She turned in stuff late, or half completed and still got an A. The group setting was a total joke, because she did close to nothing and still got full credit. She did end up with a ton of debt though, and had a hard time finding work.
I written more papers than I have over many years of traditional school education as well. I was corrected on grammer and I was also failed for not completing work and not taking my time!
June 22, , 5: I just spent my last four years with this stupid UOP for nothing UOP, as much as I think it is diluting educational quality, is a regionally accredited institution, whose degrees are recognized by both regionally and nationally accredited institutions. It was probably because you tanked your GMAT or something. May 24, , 3: No school is perfect even the big schools.
May 22, , 8: Was supposed to graduate this year but that will not be happening. I should have known when i had problems in the beginning with them. For some reason when you send emails or try calling your academic counsler or finance counsler you can never get a message back. If it is returned it is a week later. Long story short because of lack of communcation on UOP behalf. SO i fell out sick and left messages and they did not respond, so therefore I now owe them money and i cant graduate.
Thanks a lot for looking out and making sure that the students recieve their education and make sure that they can at least know that the money we owe is well spent. I feel like I have been lied to of everything that they promised and told me. No help in classes and yes i struggled and i was making it but no professor ever took the time to return a call or email. Not a good experience!!! Complete waste of time and money!! May 11, , 5: May 2, , Consider going into a real school if you want my advise.
Gina Flag as inappropriate. April 30, , 3: This is a self professed instructor for UOP and there are several misspelled words in the short post. Yep, best reconsider if you are still thinking about attending.
This is nothing more than a business with very poor customer service. April 10, , I have already experienced 2 students that are working on their masters degree as well that completely plagiarized from one source or another almost everything they have handed in that I have seen.
Everyone complains in the forum about how these students are still enrolled class after class with the same students that plagiarize! University of Phoenix is lax in their plagiarizing protocols which is why I started to investigate my choice. After all you donot deal with tens of students in the class and all those troubles you have to deal with to earn dollars in the US. This is not really a university for learning new stuffs that would give you your favorite job.
It is a place for making huge profits for stockholders like in Wall-Street. So the bottom line is if you decide to teach at this place, think about working in a fast food restaurant first. After all, you will get free food at the end of the night shift and your 10 dollars an hour salary.
This is a new British-style slavary for money. Now neocolonialism has invaded academia for making huge profits. Thanks to the brain behind this so-called University of Getting-No-Where fir students by making money for profeteers. I used to teach at a university in Canada and the average salary for lab instructor for a semester was Canadian.
I keed, I keed. Definitely not for the riches. Should have gone to a state school. Lots of professors from portland state are there which is nice. However the dumbass team assignments piss me off.
I had this one girl who was a horrible procrastinator finally she dropped. I hope this is all worth it in the end. I am almost done with my MBA. Either way a couple years ago I never thought I would even have an associates im suprised I made it this far. Employer will pass you over for someone with a state or private university background. Even if you get hired because you have more experience or did better on the interview, the subject of college will always be a sore subject for you.
People love to talk about their college experience, and how proud they are of their school. Around my office people hang their diploma proudly with coffee mug to boot. One kid foolishly hung up his University of Phoenix diploma and the next day someone wrote "novelty item" on it. I felt bad for the kid but he needed a reality check.
D Flag as inappropriate. I have never ever had any problems with Axia ever. When I decided to take online classes, one of my first choices was University of Phoenix. I had seen their commercials and thought that to put that much effort into their image that they must have something to offer. I requested information on the website. About two days later, I received a call from an enrollment counselor. She was one of the nicest people I had ever talked to in my life.
She asked me about what my goals were, what my plans were, and what do I look to acheive for not only my career in the future but for myself. She has been there for me since that day. She calls me at least once ever two weeks. My financial advisor and my academic advisor either call me or email me about once every month or two to see how I am doing and ask me if I need anything.
I have seen something very repetitive with many of the complaints about Axia College of the University of Phoenix: A lot of the complaints involove financial aid.
In my honest opinion, I think that if students went into the experience of Axia motivated by a need and want to truly LEARN, rather than being motivated by the large financial aid loans they plan to request, they would have a much more successful and fulfilling experience. A lot of people choose online learning because they think they will get a free ride.
Axia College of the University of Phoenix is an accredited school with a rich learning experience that has provided me with more knowledge than I ever anticipated it would. I have learned more through Axia than I ever did in high school.
For the record, and since it seems to be the initial reason people are unhappy rather than being concerned about their education , my financial aid has only been late once and that was because there was a mistake on my part.
The staff at UoP have treated me wonderfully, and my experience here at Axia has been amazing thus far. Sincerely, A happy Axia Student Flag as inappropriate. You would be in the same position if you were in any other school. You are irresponsible and lack motivation. I have been a UoP student for a few years and absolutely love the online learning experience. If you have found yourself in a pickle it is your own doing. Log in every day, participate in the discussions, turn in assignments on time, and study hard.
UoP requires effort and dedication to graduate. Quit complaining and get back on track. You have no one to blame except yourself. Last week I performed a little experiment, sending in a vastly sub-par paper which was clearly at least words below the minimum word count, and received a perfect score.
Not all classes have been like this, but anyone attending the college should beware that the vast majority of learning will be done by yourself. There have been mostly two forms of evaluation for your work taking the online courses: You have access to any number of possible workshops which act as mini-courses in the subject matter of your choice, as well as helpful writing tools and an online university library which contains just about anything you could hope to look up.
Whether this is worth the price of college tuition, however, I am not so sure. July 16, , 7: There is no way to tell how the university is grading their students. So far all I have seen is completion rates from their reports. What they really need is grade averages per course. I know its not easy to get an A. But to get a C which if I am not mistaken is needed to pass the class must be beyond easy. June 16, , 4: When I first started everything was fine June 8, , The dean of my program made it well known that she did not like military!
I graduated with honors from a state university but got the boot here?????????? The dean of my program was seriously lacking in ethics as she told me I did not make it in of other students! The finance dept told me however that I made it. I do not want to be taught ethics from someone who has none!
I paid money just to get away from University of Phoenix! The dean also decided to try to argue with me and tell me that the ship that I was re-enlisting on was sinking. Really a dean who does not know about water displacement???????? She said, "Why would anyone want to re-enlist on that ship it is sinking!
It is halfway under water! June 23, , Sorry to hear such a horrible experience. May 19, , I love the UOP-online learning experience. They have excellent database access for research and many wonderful tools to help you succeed with your education. Way to expensive, and they just sent out e-mails about a price increase! I have often felt I was actually paying to obtain this degree and would earn it regardless of academic performance.
What I mean by that is I would receive excellent scores for work I knew was far from excellent. I am not even certain the facilitators read half the assignments submitted. The team aspect is excellent. So, all in all If you are not concerned with learning all the material because there are no tests, only projects and busy work IF you want a quality education at an affordable rate, go elsewhere!
May 9, , 3: I say if you want to spend this kind of money go get an education at Heald or other programs in your area. They instructors are a joke. What they offer you after you have paid thousands of dollars is a position to be an online instructor Not only that, I had suffered a heart attack and was in the hospital for over a week. Then when they have it you are just a student that made them rich, no job placement, no nothing. May 7, , Again military members, stick to the classes that are offered on your bases and stay away from these crooks.
Thank you for ripping me off UOP!! May 3, , 3: I am actually more lost then ever on what to do next, I want to see if some credits can be transfered and how much loans I will need to actually recieve a degree..
I think they should charge less and give at least one more class a week. April 28, , I would agree that U of P is a little high , but each class was very informative My advisors were great!!! April 27, , Go checkout ace your college classes. April 26, , 8: Other than that, I do feel like most of the classes have been challenging working towards a BS in Business in Human Resources Management , although I do not care for the learning teams as well.
April 25, , I wish this school never existed. April 19, , 7: I am currently in comp 2 now, and so want to just quit. After reading all of the complaints about the school itself, I am actually wondering where all of my financial aid is going myself.
April 9, , 4: UOP makes it easy for me to pursue my degree. I know some people might think that is a bad thing, but I like that everything is laid out and easy to follow.

March 26, , 4: I read through these comments and the school does not say the "instructor is always correct" I have filed a complaint against one of mine and that was taken care of right away. Also, I have had two academic counselors the first one moved to another state and the same finical aide adviser. They are knowledgeable and get back to me in a timely matter. I still hear from my enrollment counselor and she asks how I am doing and how are my classes.
Instructors do grade papers, I will admit I am not always good in grammar and every single one has corrected my grammar so far. I start my Criminal Justice classes in August and I work hard for my 3.
I read the material, take the time to write my papers and always finish the group projects early. If businesses did not take UoP degrees seriously why would have a lead case manager position? In my current class there is an officer who is pursing a Psychology degree and he said many other officers go to UoP as well. March 20, , Your comment " the likelihood of your credits transferring are great!
You posters here stating how hard your degree was, go to a real University with class meetings. Most of you would not make it. March 3, , 3: The staff and instructors are NOT good. They cannot keep up with student counselors. They accuse students of plagiarism falsely and put student in academic probation if you have a B- in the MBA program.
